CONTEXT: Minimal State is an arts organisation based in Hull, operating online its aims are to celebrate local artistry & culture by providing free inclusive publishing opportunities for grassroots artists through collaborative projects and online exhibitions / curations.
I was predominantly responsible for the design, strategy & communication across all digital platforms; from visual identity & social media templates to brand tone, web editorials, and packaging for POS. Notably Minimal State gained its placement within the scene for its consistent curations of local artwork, under the sub-brand of Here & Now.

(01) BRAND IDENTITY
The responsibility of Minimal State was to act as a conductor of artwork, from and to artists, therefore the purpose was to create a minimal brand that wouldn't distract from the artwork we'd feature. With this in mind a subtle sans serif type family was selected; bold weight belonging to titles, regular for brand / names, and italic for additional information.
(02) SOCIAL MEDIA
Inline with the brand values social media templates were created for posts, slider posts & stories for each of Minimal State's projects. A grid system was developed in order to maintain a minimal view on Instagram overview, whilst added information and project categorisation was communicated in expanded view and colour coding. > @minimal_state
